Grieving mother believes deceased son’s body on display at museum

Must read

A mother expressed her shock and distress upon encountering what she believed to be her deceased son’s body on display at a museum exhibition. Kim Erick, 54, was visiting the Real Bodies exhibition in Las Vegas when she came face to face with a body that she was convinced belonged to her son, Chris. Despite the museum’s denial and the police confirming no foul play in Chris’s death, Kim remained steadfast in her belief.

Recalling the harrowing experience, Kim described the sight as unbearable and deeply unsettling, claiming she saw images of her son’s mutilated body. The Real Bodies exhibition showcases preserved human remains to offer a unique perspective on human anatomy. Kim is now urging for DNA testing to confirm the identity of the body she believes to be Chris.

Chris passed away in 2012 at his grandmother’s home, with authorities concluding it was a peaceful death. Despite receiving Chris’s ashes in a necklace, Kim harbored suspicions and called for further investigation into his death. While a jury investigation in 2014 ruled out foul play and deemed Chris’s death as a likely suicide, Kim remains resolute in her belief that foul play was involved in her son’s demise.

The exhibition’s owner, Imagine Exhibitions, Inc., has refuted Kim’s claims, asserting that the displayed specimen has been in continuous exhibition since 2004 and is not linked to the individual in question. They emphasize the ethical sourcing and biological unidentifiability of all specimens on display, maintaining their commitment to upholding ethical and legal standards.
