In Ohio, a tragic incident unfolded as a man fatally shot two children and another man before ending his own life, according to authorities. Ryan Eagon, 42, reportedly took the lives of his seven-month-old baby, her seven-year-old son, and the child’s father. This devastating act occurred after Eagon learned that his wife intended to leave their residence due to ongoing domestic troubles, as detailed by the Tiffin Police Department.
The Tiffin Police Department responded to a report of gunshots at the 100 block of Huss Street just before 6:30 pm on Wednesday. At the scene, officers found four victims with gunshot wounds and a woman who, though physically unharmed, was visibly shocked and traumatized. The authorities are treating the incident as a suspected murder-suicide case.
Dustin Willey, 29, the father of the seven-year-old boy, was assisting the woman in moving out when the tragic events unfolded. Willey and the woman were inside gathering their belongings while the children were outside near a vehicle. Upon hearing the elder boy cry out, they went to the driveway where Eagon confronted them.
Allegedly, Eagon pursued Willey and fired multiple shots at him before turning the gun on the children and subsequently targeting Willey again. Eagon then took his own life, with a self-inflicted gunshot wound found on his body. The mother of the children called 911 and brought her deceased children back inside the house.
Willey and the seven-year-old boy were taken to Tiffin Mercy Hospital, where they succumbed to their injuries. The baby and Eagon were pronounced dead at the scene. Kelly Gallagher, Willey’s former employer, described him as a devoted father who was deeply involved in his son’s life.
Police Chief David Pauly, in a Facebook post, expressed shock at the tragic events, urging the community to support the victims’ families and the emergency responders involved. Autopsies are pending from the Seneca County Coroner’s Office as the investigation continues.
