Cat Crashes Through Car Windshield in Bald Eagle Drop

Must read

A surprising incident occurred when a woman driving in North Carolina had a cat crash through her car’s windshield after being dropped by a bird of prey, believed to be a bald eagle. The dramatic event took place on the US Route 74 highway in Swain County, leaving the driver in shock as she was forced to pull over and contact emergency services due to the impact at 55mph.

Images captured the damage caused by the cat smashing through the car’s windshield, creating a significant crater in the glass. In a 911 call, the woman explained the unusual situation, stating that a bald eagle had unexpectedly released the feline into her vehicle.

Despite the incredulous nature of the event, the emergency operator assured the woman of belief. A witness nearby also expressed astonishment at the bizarre incident, describing it as one of the strangest sights they had ever seen.

Following confirmation of her location, the Highway Patrol was dispatched to the scene to investigate further. The driver sadly reported that the cat did not survive the fall and was located by the side of the road. Fortunately, the woman herself did not sustain any injuries during the incident, according to Highway Patrol officials, who arranged for the vehicle to be towed from the site.

Reports suggest that while bald eagles typically prey on smaller animals like fish or birds, they may occasionally target cats under certain circumstances, such as when the cat appears vulnerable due to age or injury.

In a separate incident in June 2022, a Yorkshire Terrier named CoCo narrowly escaped an encounter with a bald eagle in British Columbia, Canada, managing to free itself from the bird’s talons with only minor scratches and making a full recovery.
