Must read

In a recent court ruling, a man was sentenced to 27 years in prison for brutally stabbing his partner multiple times in a horrific attack. Ryan Leggett, 35, resorted to violence after his partner caught him in bed with another man, accompanied by drugs, leading to a violent confrontation.

The judge, Martyn Levett, described Leggett as a dangerous individual prone to violent outbursts, especially under the influence of drugs. The attack left the victim with severe injuries, including stab wounds to her neck, chest, lungs, and liver, putting her life at risk.

Following his conviction, Leggett was sentenced to a lengthy prison term of 27 years, with an additional three years of extended license after his release. The judge emphasized the seriousness of the crime by imposing an indefinite restraining order preventing Leggett from contacting the victim or her family.

The court heard that Leggett callously left his partner to die after the brutal attack, locking her inside the property. The victim sustained multiple stab wounds, including life-threatening injuries to her chest, abdomen, and other parts of her body, causing significant physical harm.

Despite denying attempted murder, Leggett was found guilty by a jury, having also admitted to a separate charge of threatening someone with a knife in a private setting. The victim, who had been in a relationship with Leggett for several years, expressed the lasting trauma and fear she experiences due to the attack, highlighted by post-traumatic stress disorder and ongoing nightmares.

The victim’s statement revealed the profound impact of the incident on her life and her family, leading to a sense of paranoia and fear in public spaces. She emphasized the emotional toll, describing the relationship with Leggett as a deception and expressing ongoing concerns for her safety and well-being.
