Police in Majorca have initiated an inquiry into the death of a British man whose unclothed body was discovered concealed in shrubbery. Authorities on the island have confirmed his nationality and are awaiting the results of an autopsy before proceeding with further steps. The distressing finding was made yesterday around noon by a group of workers who came across the lifeless body of the man, believed to be 64 years old, lying on his back without clothes.
The man was found near the picturesque Cala Lombards beach in southeast Majorca, an area sealed off by law enforcement. Sources familiar with the situation have indicated that there were no apparent signs of violence on the man’s body or at the scene, although all possibilities are being considered until after the post-mortem examination.
The autopsy is scheduled to occur later today at the Institute of Forensic Medicine in Palma. The Civil Guard, responsible for the investigation, has confirmed that the deceased individual is of British nationality. The alarm was raised yesterday by a worker in the vicinity around midday in Cala Llombards within the Santanyi municipality.
A police spokesperson mentioned that they could not confirm reports that the deceased man was completely naked when discovered, pending verification during the autopsy. The individual is believed to be a resident of the island, although authorities have not disclosed whether he was a tourist or lived locally. A witness residing near the area where the man was found deceased recalled seeing him walking alone in the vicinity prior to the tragic incident.
