Bella Culley, a pregnant British woman previously imprisoned in Georgia on drug trafficking charges, has returned to the UK. Bella, 19, landed in the country after departing from Georgia, where she had spent several months in jail. Accompanied by her mother carrying a familiar cream-colored suitcase that had previously contained £200,000 worth of cannabis, Bella arrived at around 7 pm and was greeted by loved ones before being escorted away by armed police to avoid the media.
After spending nearly six months behind bars in Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia, Bella flew back home on an EasyJet flight. She and her mother were observed rushing into the airport to check in just in time before boarding. Bella’s unexpected release from prison earlier in the week came after a sudden alteration to her plea bargain, enabling her to board a flight back to London, where she landed at 7 pm.
Expressing her astonishment at the sudden turn of events, Bella mentioned that her release had caught her by surprise. She shared her initial reactions upon leaving the courtroom, commenting on her appearance and the presence of cameras. Her emotional reunion with her father was also disclosed, with Bella joyfully announcing her newfound freedom and expressing her love for her family amidst the overwhelming media attention.
Bella’s mother, despite her tearful courtroom appearance, conveyed her immense happiness at Bella’s release and expressed plans to swiftly arrange for their departure from the UK.
