Man Fatally Thrown from Boat in Costa del Sol

Must read

A tragic incident occurred at a holiday resort on the Costa del Sol, resulting in the death of a man who was thrown from a boat. The event took place in Puerto Banus, located southwest of Marbella, at midday today. Reports suggest that the boat involved may have been a drug boat equipped with four powerful engines, although official confirmation from the Civil Guard is pending. Witnesses recounted that the individuals on the boat abandoned the victim near a fuel station before fleeing the scene. Emergency responders pronounced the man deceased upon arrival.

Contradictory reports have emerged regarding the circumstances of the incident. One account indicates that the unidentified victim, believed to be around 30 years old, was tossed into the sea near the filling station before being retrieved from the water and declared dead. Law enforcement sources mentioned the absence of apparent signs of physical assault on the victim.

Footage shared online displayed several National Police and Civil Guard vehicles at the scene, alongside yachts docked in the port, with an ambulance in attendance. The deceased individual’s body has been transferred to Malaga’s Institute of Forensic Medicine for further examination. Authorities have not discounted the possibility that the incident may be linked to a drug-related conflict.

Recent years have seen a rise in shootings in Puerto Banus and its environs, leading to notable police interventions during peak tourist seasons, including operations targeting upscale establishments.

In a separate incident on October 3, Hamza Karimi, a 25-year-old Swedish rapper known as Hamko, was fatally shot in broad daylight in Puerto Banus. Karimi succumbed to his injuries after being rushed to Costa del Sol Hospital with multiple gunshot wounds. A 38-year-old suspect was apprehended near the scene and subsequently detained pending further legal proceedings.

In a previous incident in June last year, Erling Haaland, a Manchester City football player, was involved in a dramatic police raid at the Playa Padre beach club in Marbella. Haaland cooperated with authorities, producing identification upon request, during the operation which led to the arrest of a 33-year-old individual.

In March of the same year, a shooting occurred at the British-run restaurant La Sala, resulting in the arrest of two individuals with reported ties to organized crime.

Following these violent events, television personality Kerry Katona revealed that she opted against relocating to the Costa del Sol with her family due to safety concerns, despite prior plans to move there with her then-fiancé, Ryan Mahoney.
