Heart-wrenching details have surfaced regarding the passing of a devoted Disney enthusiast, as witnesses recount the harrowing moment they were startled by a loud noise at the resort.
Summer Equitz, aged 31, tragically took her own life after traveling solo from Illinois to Disney World Florida, leaving her family behind. She leaped from a 12th-floor balcony in front of guests and staff at the Contemporary Resort on October 14.
A married couple staying at the hotel vividly described the heart-wrenching moment Summer fell just 30 feet away from them on the fourth-floor observation deck. According to an incident report by an Orange County Sheriff’s Deputy, they were on the balcony when they heard a loud noise and saw a female figure on the ground, approximately 10 yards away.
One of the witnesses approached to check if she was breathing, to no avail, as stated in the report. Simultaneously, a hotel staff member, who was on the 15th-floor observation deck with a colleague, witnessed Summer’s fatal fall from three floors below. Upon reaching the 12th floor, the staff member found a blue tote bag near the railing, as reported by The New York Post.
Summer’s LinkedIn profile revealed her past work as a character performer and entertainment host at Disneyland Anaheim from 2012 to 2015. Just last year, she and her husband Nicholas Danlovich celebrated their honeymoon at Walt Disney World. A photo she shared depicted her with Bob Iger, the CEO of the Walt Disney Company, captioned as “My life has peaked.”
Sadly, ten months before her demise, Summer announced her pregnancy and shared an ultrasound image, as reported by the Sun. She posted a joyful picture with her husband holding the baby scan in their home kitchen, shortly after their Disney honeymoon in Orlando, where she would later meet her tragic end.
This incident occurred mere weeks after another visitor at Disneyland in California passed away after experiencing the Haunted Mansion ride. A woman in her 60s, who had visited the park on October 6, was found unresponsive after the ride, with emergency services responding to the scene. Despite Disneyland security providing CPR, she was later pronounced deceased at a local hospital.
