Kentucky Plane Crash Tragedy: 12 Dead, Dozens Unaccounted

Must read

A mother of two is presumed to have passed away following a plane crash involving a UPS aircraft in Kentucky on Tuesday evening. Angela ‘Angie’ Anderson, aged 45 and residing in Louisville, is one of the individuals who remain unaccounted for after UPS Flight 2976 crashed, resulting in 12 fatalities. Anderson was at Grade A Auto Parts & Scrap Metal Recycling around 5 pm disposing of scrap metal when the tragic incident occurred, causing the plane to crash and ignite.

Concerningly, there has been no contact with Anderson since the crash. Her boyfriend, Donald Henderson, aged 55, had intended to accompany her but decided against it due to fatigue from a day’s work. He expressed regret over not going with her and mentioned that they had planned to go together but the timing didn’t work out.

William Moreland, aged 64 and father of two children with Anderson, is also anxiously seeking information about her whereabouts. He expressed his distress, stating that they are trying to gather information and are not alone in their search for answers.

Reports indicate that at least 16 families have reported missing loved ones, and 11 individuals sustained injuries in the incident. The plane, en route to Honolulu, briefly ascended before crashing outside the airport perimeter, hitting Kentucky Petroleum Recycling and Grade A Autoparts, causing a significant fire that engulfed the area.

The Governor of Kentucky, Andy Beshear, declared a state of emergency to facilitate the swift deployment of resources to the crash site. Todd Inman from the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) mentioned that a significant fire erupted in the left wing after the plane was cleared for takeoff. The NTSB is conducting an investigation to determine the cause of the fire and the detachment of the engine, a process that is expected to take over a year.

Initial findings suggest that the aircraft managed to gain sufficient altitude to clear the runway fence before crashing near the Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport. Mayor Craig Greenberg confirmed the death toll to be at least 12, including the UPS crew members, ground workers, and a child, with several individuals still missing. Greenberg expressed his sorrow over the increasing fatalities and the ongoing search for those unaccounted for in the tragic event.
