Man Jumps to Death to Avoid Prison Arrest

Must read

A tragic incident unfolded as a young man met his demise by leaping from a third-floor window to avoid returning to prison. The individual, identified as Tyquan Richardson, 22, was confronting charges related to marijuana distribution and possession of an illicit substance.

Law enforcement officers linked a firearm discovered near the court building to Richardson, prompting his imminent arrest. Faced with the apprehension, Richardson impulsively crashed through a glass window on the third floor, plunging to his death. Authorities attribute his actions to a fear of serving a prison sentence.

The shattered window that Richardson broke through bore witness to the distressing event. Following the fall, he succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital around 1:30 pm in October 2015. A police spokesperson mentioned Richardson’s apprehension regarding the potential consequences of the firearm charge given his past legal issues.

Reports indicate that Richardson had a history of run-ins with the law, including being on bail when arrested for suspected possession of a loaded gun, a violation of his bail terms. The handgun, with Richardson’s name on associated paperwork, was discovered outside the court premises.

According to Crime Monthly, Richardson confessed to owning the firearm before making a desperate escape attempt during his arrest. Despite being restrained by law enforcement, he broke free and leaped through the window, sustaining severe injuries upon impact with the pavement 40 feet below.

Having spent 15 days in custody for drug offenses, Richardson had only recently been released before the tragic incident. His criminal record included previous convictions for weapon concealment in Michigan, as well as a past arrest for aggravated assault and battery.

An eyewitness, local student Rehmet Khan, described the sudden and shocking event as a loud crack that disrupted their peaceful gathering before class. Fulton County Deputy Sheriff Dan Cochran expressed the community’s collective disbelief and astonishment at the tragic turn of events.
