“Hamilton Urges Ferrari Changes for F1 Success”

Must read

Lewis Hamilton has once again communicated his concerns to Ferrari leadership, emphasizing the need for changes in the team’s strategies and operations. The seven-time world champion has faced challenges since his high-profile switch from Mercedes to Ferrari last winter.

Despite his move, Hamilton, aged 40, has yet to secure a podium finish with his new team and currently sits in sixth place in the drivers’ standings before the upcoming United States Grand Prix, trailing his teammate Charles Leclerc by 48 points.

Hamilton revealed during the Belgium Grand Prix in July that he has been regularly submitting “documents” to Ferrari throughout the season in an effort to turn around his performance and enhance his experience following a challenging debut season.

Reports from August indicated that Hamilton’s communications with Ferrari focus on proposed modifications to the car and the team’s operational methodologies, specifically addressing the communication channels between various departments during race weekends.

According to an article in the Italian publication Corriere della Sera, Hamilton has dispatched another document to Ferrari’s top management, underlining the necessity for broad changes within the team structure.

It has been noted that Hamilton anticipated a greater level of involvement in decision-making at Ferrari but has encountered unexpected hurdles and internal political obstacles instead.

Comparisons have been drawn between Hamilton’s situation at Ferrari and that of four-time world champion Sebastian Vettel, who also experienced difficulties in catalyzing change during his tenure with the team from 2015 to 2020.

In preparation for his new role at Ferrari, Hamilton sought guidance from Vettel in January, engaging in discussions over the phone to exchange insights and perspectives with his fellow champion.

Following a pit lane incident during qualifying at the Singapore Grand Prix, Hamilton identified an area for improvement within Ferrari, highlighting the significant loss of tire temperature experienced by him and Leclerc during the laps.

Hamilton emphasized the need to address this issue, pointing out the challenges in regaining optimal tire temperature and suggesting that a quicker turnaround in the pit lane could enhance their competitive edge.
