“Google Maps Solves Two-Year Mystery of Missing Alzheimer’s Patient”

Must read

An elderly woman disappeared under mysterious circumstances when her husband briefly turned away, but the mystery was unraveled two years later with assistance from Google Maps.

Marcel Taret was the sole caretaker for his 83-year-old wife, Paulette Landrieux, who was battling Alzheimer’s disease.

A recent video by podcaster Mr. Ballen shed light on Marcel’s constant caregiving duties. “Paulette relied on assistance to remember meals and medications,” he mentioned.

Paulette had a habit of wandering off without informing Marcel, who would then have to locate and bring her back home.

On November 2, 2020, Marcel left Paulette alone for a short time while tending to laundry outside. Little did he know it would be the last time he saw her alive.

Before stepping out, Marcel had ensured Paulette was settled with a meal in front of the television. Upon his return, she was nowhere to be found, causing immediate distress.

Marcel frantically searched the house and nearby areas, even seeking help from neighbors and eventually involving the police.

As hours turned into days and weeks without any trace of Paulette, Marcel faced the grim reality of possibly never knowing his wife’s fate.

A coincidental breakthrough emerged in 2022 when a neighbor linked Paulette’s disappearance to the day Google’s Streetview camera passed through their town.

Examining the images, investigators pinpointed Paulette crossing the street away from her residence towards a steep hill leading to a dense thicket.

Tragically, Paulette’s remains were discovered within the thicket, shedding light on her fate during the extensive search efforts.

The revelation brought closure to Marcel, wrapping up the two-year-long mystery surrounding his beloved wife’s disappearance.
