“British Man Missing in Spain: Police Appeal for Information”

Must read

Police in Spain are seeking details regarding a British man who has been missing since approximately September 20. Marc Tulloch Hewson, 63, originally from Wantage, Oxfordshire, was last sighted in Torrevieja, located south of Alicante. His wife, Catherine, and acquaintances in the Costa Blanca region, where Marc resided, have turned to social media to encourage individuals with any relevant information to come forward.

The Civil Guard has issued a public appeal confirming an ongoing investigation into Marc’s disappearance. They stated, “Our probe into the vanishing of Marc Tulloch Hewson, 63, is active. He disappeared on September 19 near Torrevieja University Hospital. On the day he was last seen, he was dressed in long black tracksuit bottoms with ‘The Beatles’ inscribed in white, a brown baseball cap, and black shoes.”

A police spokesperson disclosed, “Evidence suggests the missing individual was in the vicinity of the Jardin del Mar I and Laguna Salada residential areas in Torrevieja on the morning of September 20. At that time, he was wearing black shorts and was bare-chested and shoeless. Search efforts have been concentrated in those zones as well as Orihuela Costa, with interviews conducted with locals.”

A description of Marc has been circulated on an Interior Ministry website, detailing him as 1.75 meters tall, weighing about 70 kilograms, with straight blond hair and blue eyes.

Additionally, appeals for information have been made by Fiona Crowther on a Facebook expat group, stating, “Together we can locate Marc. Your assistance is vital. His wife, Catherine, myself, and all of Marc’s friends express gratitude to everyone for their efforts in searching, sharing, and providing information. Please continue to support us.”

Beth Hewerdine has also urged for information online, writing, “Please aid in finding Marc Tulloch Hewson, missing since September 20 in Costa Blanca, Spain. He is vulnerable and without medication – any leads or sightings could greatly assist.”

Reports describe Marc as “approachable and friendly,” mentioning that he left home on September 18, did not return, and was picked up by an ambulance later that evening. Allegedly, he was discharged from Torrevieja Hospital around 2 am the following morning but vanished before the ambulance arrived to take him home.

This development follows the miraculous rescue of jet ski rider Layonel Ramirez Collado, 27, who was found alive three days after disappearing off the Canary Islands. Collado was adrift in the Atlantic but was spotted and rescued after signaling to a passing plane. He was found dehydrated and sunburned but conscious, sitting on the jet ski awaiting rescue.
