A popular fashion influencer has passed away after experiencing complications from a cosmetic ‘fox eye’ procedure. Adair Mendes Dutra Junior, known as Junior Dutra on Instagram, fell ill and struggled to breathe before being rushed to a local hospital where he tragically died. The 31-year-old had recently undergone the ‘fox eye’ treatment and had been facing issues with an infected wound on his face.
Junior underwent the procedure in March, sharing pictures of his swollen face with bruises in various areas. The ‘fox eye’ technique aims to lift the eye corners for a distinctive cat-like appearance and can be achieved through non-surgical methods like thread lifts and Botox or more invasive surgeries like blepharoplasty.
On October 3, Junior’s health deteriorated rapidly, leading to his untimely death at a nearby hospital. His close friend, Gean Souza, disclosed that Junior had been experiencing discomfort and infection symptoms post-procedure, with the situation worsening in the days leading to his passing.
Following the incident, Junior had contacted authorities and filed a lawsuit against his surgeon, Fernando Garbi, alleging medical malpractice and serious bodily harm. Garbi’s legal representative denied any wrongdoing, asserting that the doctor was not responsible for Junior’s death and threatened legal action against those making accusations.
The ‘fox eye’ procedure, also known as canthoplasty or canthopexy, has become popular, especially on social media platforms like Instagram. Souza expressed a desire for justice for his late friend, highlighting Junior’s unfulfilled aspirations and dreams.
In the midst of these events, the controversy surrounding the cosmetic procedure and the legal battle between the parties involved continue to unfold.
