“Piers Morgan Apologizes to Alastair Cook After 11 Years”

Must read

Piers Morgan has publicly apologized to Alastair Cook after 11 years of referring to him as a ‘weasel’ during his time as the England cricket team captain. Morgan had been critical of Cook’s role in Kevin Pietersen’s exclusion from the international cricket scene back in 2013. However, the two reconciled on a recent episode of The Overlap and Betfair’s Stick to Cricket show, where Morgan expressed regret for his past remarks.

Morgan admitted that his criticism stemmed from his desire to see Pietersen play more, calling him one of the greatest post-war batsmen. He acknowledged that he had been overly harsh towards Cook without knowing him personally, and expressed remorse for the numerous derogatory comments he made on social media.

While Pietersen’s career with England ended in 2013, Cook continued to play for another five years, amassing an impressive record of 12,472 test runs and 33 centuries. Cook has described the fallout from Pietersen’s departure as the most challenging period of his cricketing career.

In a surprising turn of events, Sky has announced a significant discount on its Essential TV and Sky Sports package for the upcoming 2025/26 season, offering savings of £336 and broadcasting over 1,400 live matches from the Premier League, EFL, and more. Sky will showcase a minimum of 215 live Premier League matches next season, an increase of up to 100 additional games.
