A former nurse who was discovered engaging in sexual activity with her 15-year-old stepson provided a disturbing justification for her actions.
Alexis Von Yates, aged 34, was recently sentenced to two years in prison after pleading no contest to a charge of lewd and lascivious battery. In addition to the prison term, she will serve two years of community control and undergo 10 years of sex offender probation. Von Yates is also mandated to complete 200 hours of community service, cover court expenses, and pay fines.
Court records revealed that Von Yates’ husband, Frank Yates, caught her with his teenage stepson on the living room couch in July of the previous year. The former nurse claimed that she targeted her stepson because he reminded her of her husband, as per police reports. Prior to the incident, she had been joking about her sexual desires.
The stepson recounted how the encounter unfolded, stating that Von Yates initiated physical contact and made inappropriate remarks about his age. The teenager disclosed that Von Yates proceeded to engage in sexual acts without protection.
Despite hearing noises from the garage, they continued until the boy’s father unexpectedly walked in after returning from work. The teenager hastily retreated to the bathroom upon his father’s arrival.
When questioned by his father, the boy remained silent, while Von Yates falsely claimed she had asked him to stop. The boy expressed concerns about potential abuse from his father. Following the assault, the father drove his son to his grandparents’ residence, blaming him for the situation during the journey.
The boy’s grandfather discouraged him from contacting his biological mother about the incident. Subsequently, the teenager conversed with Von Yates, who expressed regret about being caught by his father.
The boy’s father eventually reported the incident to the authorities anonymously. Since the incident in July 2024, Von Yates and her husband have parted ways, as confirmed in a prison remand report.
When asked if she wished to address the court, Von Yates simply responded with “no comment.”
