“Reform UK Donor Admires Enoch Powell, Urges Immigration Halt”

Must read

A supporter of Nigel Farage’s Reform UK party, Gary Dutton, has been revealed as an admirer of the late far-right figure Enoch Powell. Dutton expressed his admiration for Powell’s vision, despite the controversial “Rivers of blood” speech where Powell warned about a potential race war. Dutton, a wealthy individual, also urged former Prime Minister David Cameron to halt immigration. Powell, known for his strong stance against mass immigration, was quoted by Dutton in his autobiography alongside other figures like Margaret Thatcher, Winston Churchill, and the Beatles’ John Lennon and Paul McCartney.

Dutton, aged 76, has financially supported Reform UK, contributing £10,000 to Lee Anderson this year and £45,000 previously through his company. Additionally, his firm funded a trip for Anderson to France. Reform UK, currently leading in polls, has proposed mass deportations of asylum seekers. Dutton’s statements, discovered by the Mirror, shed light on his views on immigration and political correctness.

Enoch Powell’s infamous speech was delivered before the second reading of the Race Relations Bill by the Labour government, aiming to prevent discrimination based on ethnicity. Powell’s rhetoric, referencing a potential future race conflict, stirred controversy. Notably, it was revealed that Farage had sought Powell’s support for his campaign years ago.

In his book “The Business Builder,” Dutton recounted a conversation with David Cameron regarding immigration and sovereignty issues. Dutton’s firm, E.I.R.P Ltd, has been a significant donor to Reform UK and its predecessor, the Brexit Party. Dutton’s contributions and support for Anderson have been consistent.

E.I.R.P Ltd also covered expenses for Anderson’s trip to France last month. Dutton, recognized with an MBE in 2008, appeared on the Sunday Times Rich List with a net worth of £134 million in 2020. Reform UK has been approached for a response on the matter.
