A father on a Ryanair flight complained about receiving what he called the worst airplane food ever – a disappointing sandwich. Declan Minogue and his wife were returning from Portugal to Dublin Airport after a vacation. Feeling hungry, Declan ordered a Hot Ham and Cheese Panini for £5.90 but was shocked to find only one piece of ham and a small amount of cheese with no butter inside. Despite finishing the bland sandwich, he still felt hungry upon landing and had to buy more food.
Declan shared a photo of the sandwich on social media, calling it shocking and insulting. Commenters expressed disbelief at the poor quality of the meal, with some suggesting bringing their own food instead of purchasing onboard. Declan, from Lusk, Dublin, criticized the airline’s food service, describing the sandwich as lacking substance and flavor.
Although Declan had a negative experience, a recent airline food ranking revealed that Ryanair received fewer negative food reviews compared to other airlines. Despite Ryanair’s reputation for cost-cutting, the airline performed relatively well in the survey. Aer Lingus, another Irish airline, received the worst feedback for its in-flight food.
Ryanair has been contacted for a response regarding the incident.
