Apple has recently introduced its newest lineup of iPhones. The company held its annual event live from its headquarters in California on Tuesday, unveiling the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, and iPhone Air.
Pre-orders for these models will commence at 1pm on Friday, September 12, with availability starting from Friday, September 19. Various retailers, including Sky Mobile, EE, Mobiles.co.uk, Vodafone, and Three, have confirmed that they will carry the devices, although prices are yet to be disclosed.
Customers will also have the option to buy the phones outright from Apple and Amazon starting this Friday, September 12. Among the new iPhones, the iPhone Air stands out as the thinnest ever and is highlighted for its sleek design.
The iPhone Air is priced at £999 or £41.62 per month by Apple, with other retailers expected to reveal their pricing soon. Some retailers are allowing interested buyers to register in advance, with Mobiles.co.uk offering a £20 Currys gift card for those who register and pre-order.
Weighing 165g and measuring only 5.1mm in thickness, the iPhone Air is part of Apple’s ‘Air’ range, known for its slim and lightweight devices, which previously included iPads and MacBooks. The phone boasts a Grade 5 titanium frame made with 80% recycled titanium, making it both sturdy and visually appealing.
Featuring a 6.5″ Super Retina XDR display and a durable Ceramic Shield, the iPhone Air is four times more crack-resistant and three times better at resisting scratches compared to its predecessor, the iPhone 16. It is powered by the latest A19 Pro chip, which Apple claims is the fastest processor in any smartphone.
Buyers of the iPhone Air will receive a free seven-day trial of Apple TV+ to enjoy popular shows like Severance, Ted Lasso, and Slow Horses. It’s essential to cancel the trial before it ends if you do not wish to continue with a subscription.
The phone’s battery life has been significantly enhanced, offering up to 27 hours of video playback on a single charge and quick 50% charging in just 30 minutes. With a 48MP Fusion camera system and iOS 26 out of the box, the iPhone Air promises high-resolution photography and advanced features.
The device also introduces features like live translation, photo clean up, and visual intelligence, supported by Apple Intelligence AI capabilities. Available in storage options of 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB, the iPhone Air comes in stylish colors such as Sky Blue, Cloud White, Light Gold, and Space Black.
