Must read

Dublin emerges as the top choice for UK air travelers in the first half of 2025, based on recent analysis of Civil Aviation Authority data by AirAdvisor. Over 4.8 million passengers flew between the UK and Dublin Airport from January to June 2025. In previous years, Palma De Mallorca and Amsterdam held the leading positions in this ranking.

Popular destinations for UK travelers also include Alicante, Malaga, Faro, and Dubai, along with European capitals like Madrid, Paris, and Lisbon. AirAdvisor CEO Anton Radchenko highlighted the strong connection between the UK and Ireland, making Ireland a favored destination for various reasons, including historical ties and family visits on both sides of the Irish Sea.

The Office for National Statistics revealed that around 412,000 individuals born in the Republic of Ireland reside in the UK, with an estimated six million people having Irish ancestry. This connection prompts many to fly back to Dublin, often at affordable prices.

Dublin’s attractions, such as the Guinness Storehouse, Malahide Castle, and the Book of Kells Exhibition, offer rich historical experiences for visitors. The city also boasts diverse shopping options, from designer boutiques on Grafton Street to unique finds at street markets like the Dublin Flea Market.

The popularity of the UK-Dublin route can be attributed to various factors, including cultural ties, historical significance, and the appeal of Dublin’s attractions and shopping scene.
