Disney+ is gearing up to release a new series that is poised to become the next major hit on the streaming platform. Set to debut later this month, “Paradise” is a captivating conspiracy thriller revolving around a presidential assassination plot.
The recently unveiled trailer for the show hints at a plethora of unexpected twists and turns as the protagonist gets entangled in the conspiracy. Created and executive produced by Dan Fogelman, the mastermind behind popular and award-winning series like “Only Murders in the Building” and “This is Us,” the eight-part series promises gripping storytelling.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly in December, Fogelman described “Paradise” as riveting television with an abundance of plot intricacies and surprises. He expressed his desire for the show to capture a unique space in viewers’ minds, offering a thrilling and engaging experience.
“Paradise” unfolds in an idyllic, upscale community inhabited by influential figures from around the globe. The tranquil setting is shattered by a shocking murder, triggering a high-stakes investigation that unravels hidden truths and complex relationships.
The series trailer unveils Xavier, a secret service agent who becomes a prime suspect in the president’s murder after being exposed to classified national security information. Xavier, once the president’s trusted ally, finds himself at the center of a web of suspicion and intrigue.
“Paradise” is scheduled to premiere on Tuesday, January 28, with the first three episodes. Subsequent episodes will be released weekly leading up to the finale on March 4.
Featuring a stellar cast, “Paradise” stars acclaimed actor Sterling K. Brown as Agent Xavier Collins, the president’s loyal secret service agent. Alongside Brown is James Marsden, known for his roles in “X-Men” and “Sonic the Hedgehog,” portraying President Cal Bradford. The ensemble also includes Julianne Nicholson, Sarah Shahi, Nicole Brydon Bloom, Aliyah Mastin, and Percy Daggs IV, bringing depth and talent to the series.
