Dunelm £30 ‘unique’ way to tidy children’s toys so popular one style has already sold out

Must read

Dunelm shoppers have found a chic way to keep their homes clutter-free of children’s toys and the new item is proving so popular that some styles are already selling out. The Dunelm House Storage Basket is currently still in stock if you’re quick, retailing for £30 but described as ‘well made and feels expensive’.

Complete with a ‘roof’ lid that lifts off so you can hide away any items you don’t want lying around, it also doubles up as a beautiful decorative feature in any room in your house. Shoppers are saying that it is ‘fun but still looks nice to store toys in the lounge’, plus it is ‘great for imaginative minds’, even encouraging children to help tidy up their space after play.

The bargain rattan buy looks very similar to The White Company’s Rattan House Storage Chest that would set you back £245, and while Dunelm’s offering does have a smaller capacity, it gives the same stylish look, saving you £215. The castle and cottage versions have already sold out. You can, however, pick up the House Storage Basket and the Kids Rocket Ship Storage Basket.

The House Storage Basket has a ‘large capacity’ but can easily be folded away when not in use. Measuring L 40cm x W 35cm x D 48cm it is an ideal size for keeping all your child’s smaller items tidy and organised, without taking over the room. If you decide it’s not right, Dunelm also offer returns for free.

One happy customer left a review that said: “So pretty, child like and easy on the eye. Used as a dressing up box for my 3 year old. Looks cute in my front room.” Leaving a mixed review, a customer fed back: “I was pleasantly surprised by the size difference of this product.

“I love how unique these are and found them to be the perfect fit to store my daughter’s toys in the lounge while still giving it that fun factor for my daughter. There were a couple of loose bits that I had to poke through holes. I’m hoping these won’t come loose over time.”

Someone else was left disappointed, sharing: “The bottom does not fit, so will have to return it. It does not fully reach over so there is a big gap. There are lots of loose ends and the frame is bent. So disappointed as it looks lovely online.”

However, another shopper said the box is ‘deep’ and they ‘fit a lot of teddies in’. And it doesn’t have to be used for toys as someone pointed out it would make a ‘lovely washing basket’.

For more rattan interior items, H&M’s Braided Book Storage Unit for £29.99 is a beautiful choice. One person said it is ‘absolutely stunning’ and a ‘great fit for all those lager books that never fit on a bookcase’. Some people would prefer the design to have windows on the front as well as the side as it was pointed out that ‘unless you turn it to the side you can’t tell it’s a house’.

The Barnita Mouse Rattan Basket from La Redoute is on sale for £30.40 in a 20% off deal, featuring a lid embellished with small mouse ears, playful eyes and nose made from pom poms. You can also get the Barnita Rattan Rabbit Basket for the same price.
