Donald Trump in ‘alpha’ mode – but Melania reveals she has the upper hand with ‘power play’

Must read

“Alpha” Donald Trump arrived to be sworn into the White House in “fully heavyweight mode” – but Melania had the upper hand with an act of “power play”, according to a body language expert.

Trump, who arrived at the US Capitol to be sworn in as the 47th president, will act swiftly after the ceremony, with executive orders already prepared for his signature to clamp down on border crossings, increase fossil fuel development and end diversity and inclusion programs across the federal government

However, Trump’s entrance showed he was in “fully heavyweight mode” as he walked in to say “I’m in charge – again”, according to body language expert Judi James.

She told Paddy Power : “Trump didn’t just show up; he arrived. Gone was the peacocking and showboating of old – this was alpha mode at full throttle. The chest? Inflated and splayed like a cockerel in a power pose. The spine? Upright enough to make a Buckingham Palace guard jealous. The expression? A lip-clamp and raised jaw combo that screamed, ‘I’m in charge. Again.’

“It was a deliberate transformation. The man who has Rocky, Braveheart, and even the Village People on his inspirational playlist looked ready to outshine them all. This wasn’t just Trump the showman – this was Trump the heavyweight.”

“Fast forward to Washington today, and he didn’t disappoint. As he stepped out of the car, he stood to attention, shoulders squared, head rotating like he was scanning for doubters. Then, with a single, low-raised fist, he delivered a quiet yet commanding gesture of triumph – a silent statement that said, ‘Try stopping me now.’”

Judi believes it was Melania who “made the first move”, offering hers in a subtle “power play” inside the church where they gathered.

“Inside the church, there was another shift. Trump held Melania’s hand, but this time, it was Melania who made the first move, offering hers in a subtle ‘power play.’ Trump took it after a moment, suggesting an agreement between the two: her status and profile this time around were part of the show. Even their outfits were perfectly coordinated – sleek black overcoats, tailored and businesslike, with Melania’s white hat brim breaking the sombre tone. It was a power couple display, but made it fashion.”
